Sirohiya takes charge of KMG as Managing Director
Sambhav Sirohiya has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Kantipur Media Group (KMG). A meeting of the KMG board decided to appoint Sambhav, who is the elder son of incumbent Chairman and Managing Director Kailash Sirohiya, to the post. Sambhav’s active involvement in KMG spans over a decade and he is also former CEO of the media group. Earlier, Kailash Sirohiya was the Managing Director and has led KMG ever since its establishment in the early 1990s.
Paudel appointed as CEO of Himalayan Re-Insurance
Upasana Paudel has been appointed as the CEO of Himalayan Re-Insurance. The board of directors of Himalayan Re-Insurance promoted Paudel as the new CEO following the resignation of incumbent CEO Chandrasekharan Ramamurthy. Ramamurthi resigned within two years of his appointment. She had earlier joined the company as Deputy CEO in 2022.
Paudel holds the distinction of being the first female CEO in the Nepali insurance sector when she was appointed as the CEO of United Insurance in April 2021.
She has an MBA from Delhi University. She has over a decade of experience in insurance and other sectors and has worked in companies including Cummins India, ICICI Lombard, Vodafone, Bharati AXA General Insurance, and Sanima General Insurance.
Pahadee promoted as Acting MD of Nepal Telecom
The government has appointed Sangeeta Pahadee as Acting Managing Director of Nepal Telecom. Pahadee was promoted to the top post of the state-owned telecom company after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a corruption case against nine people including Nepal Telecom MD Sunil Poudel in the National Payment Gateway purchase case. Pahadee has been working at the Nepal Telecom for three decades.
Dr Adhikari elected Chairman of Nepal Bank Limited
Dr Chandra Bahadur Adhikari has been elected as the Chairman of the Nepal Bank Limited. Dr. Adhikari recently retired from Tribhuvan University where he taught economics for 25 years. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.
Neupane elected Chairman of NePS
Bishwambhar Neupane has been elected as the Chairman of the Nepal Electronic Payment Systems Limited (NePS). Neupane is the Deputy CEO of Machhapuchhre Bank Limited which is a promoter of NePS. Neupane has been working at Machhapuchhre Bank since 2004.
Dhungana promoted to GM at NIMB Ace Capital
Sachindra Dhungana has been promoted to General Manager of NIMB Ace Capital Limited. Dhungana is a Chartered Accountant and also holds a diploma in IFRS from the ACCA, UK. He has worked as Deputy General Manager (Head of the Business Support and Mutual Fund department). Prior to joining NIMB Ace Capital in May 2020, he worked as Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Finance Unit at Nabil Investment Banking Limited.
Regmi named Senior DCEO of Global IME Bank
Surendra Raj Regmi has been appointed as the Senior Deputy CEO of Global IME Bank Limited. Previously, he served as the Deputy CEO of the bank. He has been associated with Global IME Bank for the last 15 years and has over three decades of experience in the banking sector. He joined Global IME in April 2008 as a Deputy Manager. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University and an MBA from the University of Wales, London.

Bishnu Regmi has been appointed as the CEO of Narayani Development Bank Limited. Earlier, he worked as the Senior Manager at Kumari Bank Limited.
Pokhrel appointed Managing Director of Nepal SBI Merchant
Lekha Nath Pokhrel has been appointed as the Managing Director of Nepal SBI Merchant Banking Limited. Earlier, he was working as the Head of Finance, Audit and Madhesh Province Office of Nepal SBI Bank. Pokhrel is a Chartered Accountant who has more than 10 years of experience in the banking sector. He started his career as an audit assistant at HK Associates & Chartered Accountant in 2008.
Bashyal appointed CEO of NRNIDL
Hemanta Bashyal has been appointed as the CEO of NRN Infrastructure & Development Limited (NRNIDL). Bashyal is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) by profession and holds a certificate from the CFA Institute, United States.
Adhikari appointed Executive Director of SSF
Kabiraj Adhikari has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Social Security Fund (SSF). He was appointed to the position through an open competition beating two other shortlisted applicants. The post was vacant after the tenure of Kapilmani Gyawali ended in mid-July. Adhikari is a Chartered Accountant and is the former Deputy CEO of the Rastriya Banijya Bank. He has more than three decades of experience in the banking sector.
Pushkar back in MoF as Finance Secretary
Krishna Hari Pushkar has been appointed as the Secretary of Finance. He previously held the post from August 11, 2022, to January 5, 2023. The then Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel transferred Pushkar from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to the Prime Minister’s Office. He later assumed the position of Secretary in the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
