Shrestha appointed Chairperson of Bagmati Province Public Service Commission
Maheshwor Shrestha has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Bagmati Province. Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota appointed him on October 20 following the recommendation from the three member committee comprising of Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Bahadur Singh Lama, Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, Bhuwan Kumar Pathak, and leader of the main opposition Shalik Ram Jamkattel. Shrestha will serve as the Chairperson of Public Service Commission of Bagmati Province for the next four years.

Pandit appointed Ambassador to Israel
President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed Prof Dhana Prasad Pandit as Nepal’s Ambassador to Israel. The President appointed Pandit as the resident ambassador of Nepal to Israel on the recommendation of the government and in accordance with the Constitution of Nepal, the Office of the President said in a press note issued on November 6.

Acharya, Bista and Bhandari recommended Chief Commissioner and Commissioners of NIC
The government has recommended Suresh Acharya as the Chief Commissioner of the National Information Commission. Acharya is former President of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists. Further, Gagan Bista and Durga Bhandari have been recommended as commissioners. Bista is President of Press Chautari and Bhandari is former member of Press Council Nepal.

Regmi named Director General of DoLMA
The government has designated Shiva Prasad Regmi as the Director General of the Department of Land Management and Archive (DoLMA) under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. The position had remained vacant following the transfer of erstwhile Director General Krishna Prasad Sapkota to the National Planning Commission – the apex planning body of the government.

Mishra designated Joint Spokesperson of Nepal Telecom
Nepal Telecom has designated Nabin Kumar Mishra as the Joint Spokesperson of Nepal Telecom. Mishra is serving as the Chief Business Officer at Nepal Telecom’s Head Office.

Panday reappointed as CEO of SICL
The Board of Directors meeting of Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd (SICL) held on October 17 has reappointed Dip Prakash Panday as the Chief Executive Officer of the company for the next four years. Panday has three decades of experience in the insurance field. Before joining SICL, he served as General Manager at Everest Insurance for around 10 years. “His professional ability and prudence along with his strong belief in teamwork have helped him acquire experience in the local as well as the international market,” as per SICL.

Mahat reappointed CEO of Om Hospital & Research Centre
Yam Bahadur Mahat has recently been reappointed as Chief Executive Officer at Om Hospital & Research Centre Pvt. Ltd. His successful completion of a three-year tenure was a significant milestone that led to this reappointment, according to the Board of OHRC Pvt. Ltd. Prior to his association with OHRC Pvt. Ltd., Mahat served as Chief Operating Officer/Acting CEO at the Nepal Eye Program (Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology) for four-and-a-half years and as Country Head of Administration at Standard Chartered Bank Nepal for six years, where he had a career spanning over 28 years.

Gajurel reappointed in NITDB
The government has reappointed Ashish Gajurel as the Executive Director of Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board (NITDB). The Cabinet meeting held on October 18 decided to extend his tenure for the next four years. NITDB, under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) looks after the operation and management of ICDs (Inland Container Depots) and ICPs (Integrated Check Posts) including the management of transit with different modes of transport such as rail, road and ships at the designated seaports in both export and import.

Thing appointed CEO of Corporate Development Bank
The Board of Directors meeting of Corporate Development Bank has appointed Lal Bahadur Thing as the Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Development Bank. Thing has been appointed for the next four years effective from October 16.

 

Shrestha named Acting CEO of Gurkhas Finance
Gurkhas Finance Company has appointed Mukunda Shrestha as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the company. The Board of Directors meeting held on October 4 decided to designate Shrestha as Acting CEO. Prior to this appointment, Shrestha was serving as the Assistant General Manager of the company.

 

Yashmine appointed Managing Director of Nepal Medical College
The Board of Directors meeting of Nepal Medical College has promoted Sabiha Yashmine as Managing Director from the post of director. She assumed office on October 16. She was welcomed by Dr. Jainuddin Ansari, Chairman of Nepal Medical College while assuming office. Delivering her remarks while taking charge, she laid emphasis on cooperation from each department to achieve the desired goals.

Khatri appointed DGM of Prime Commercial Bank
The Board of Directors of Prime Commercial Bank has appointed Sumit Babu Khatri as the Deputy General Manager of the bank. His appointment was effective from October 5. Khari holds two-and-a-half decade long banking experience. Previously, he had served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Bank. He served in Citizens Bank for almost two decades. He is an expert in credit and marketing.
