Kayumov takes charge of Ncell as CEO
Jabbor Kayumov has been appointed as the new CEO & MD of Ncell Axiata Limited (Ncell). He succeeded Andy Chong who has moved to his new role as the Chief Corporate Officer of Axiata Group Berhad, the parent company of Ncell, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A Tajik national, Kayumov has almost two decades of experience in the telecommunications sector working in senior management positions in several companies under the telecom organizations such as Telia Company AB (previously TeliaSonera) and Vimpelcom (now VEON). Prior to becoming CEO & MD of Ncell, Jabbor worked as the CEO of Digicel Trinidad & Tobago followed by Digicel Jamaica until April 2023.
Kayumov, who started his career as Marketing Officer at CJSC M-Teko in Tajikistan in 2005, worked in Ncell as CCO from April 2011-November 2012. In May 2013, he joined Smart Telecom where he worked as CCO/CEO for three and a half years before joining VEON as CEO in Tajikistan. Kayumov holds M.A. in Economics from Khujand State University, Tajikistan.
Karn appointed CEO of Himalayan Life Insurance
Manoj Kumar Lal Karn has been appointed as CEO of Himalayan Life Insurance. Karn, who was earlier CEO of Union Life Insurance, took charge as the CEO of the new entity formed after the merger between Union Life, Prime Life Insurance, and Gurans Life Insurance. Karn began his career at National Life and General Insurance (now National Life Insurance) as Junior Assistant. In his professional career spanning over 28 years, he has worked in more than half a dozen insurance companies including United Life Insurance, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Nepal, Alliance Insurance (now Prabhu Insurance), Surya Life Insurance before becoming the CEO of Union Life Insurance in 2018.
Upadhyay appointed Company Secretary of United Ajod Insurance
B.P. Upadhyay has been appointed as the Company Secretary of United Ajod Insurance Limited. The company started unified transactions after the merger between United Insurance and Ajod Insurance. Upadhyay was the Company Secretary of Ajod Insurance.
Paudel appointed DG of DoC
Shovakant Paudel has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of Customs (DoC). He was recently posted to the Ministry of Finance from the Ministry of Water Supply. Paudel has experience working as the Director General of the Internal Revenue Department.
Kumar appointed CEO of LIC (Nepal) Ltd.
Pranay Kumar has been appointed as CEO of LIC (Nepal) Limited. He will be in the post for the next three years. Prior to his appointment in LIC (Nepal), Kumar was working as Senior Divisional Manager (Senior Divisional Manager) in the Nagpur Division of LIC of India.
