Dr. Lamsal named secretary of GoN
The government has appointed Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal as the Secretary of the Government of Nepal. The Cabinet meeting held on March 28 appointed Lamsal as the secretary. Prior to being promoted and appointed as the secretary, Lamsal was serving as the Acting Chief Secretary of the Sudurpashchim provincial government.
Dr. Chalise named officiating ED of Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital
The Ministry of Health and Population has appointed Dr. Ujjawal Chalise as the Officiating Executive Director of Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, appointed Dr. Chalise as the officiating executive director through a ministerial decision on March 28.
Upadhyay appointed chairperson of NDPC
Jhabindra Lal Upadhyay has been appointed as the chairperson of Nepal Digital Payments Company (NDPC). The recently held Board of Directors meeting decided to appoint Upadhyay as the chairperson of the company. Upadhyay had already assumed the office after taking oath of office from Nepal Rastra Bank Executive Director (Payment System Department), Dr. Gunakar Bhatta. During the oath-taking ceremony, Upadhyay said he is encouraged by the initiative taken by NDPC to foster financial inclusion and economic empowerment.
Prof. Dr. Thapa assumes office as advisor to Finance Minister
Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun has appointed Prof. Dr. Surya Bahadur Thapa as advisor to the minister. The Cabinet meeting held on March 28 appointed Thapa as the advisor to the finance minister. Thapa from Dhurkot, Gulmi district was a Professor in Tribhuvan University, Central Department of Economics. He had previously also served as chairperson of the Citizen Investment Trust, a non-banking financial institution of the government.
Bhandari, Lama and Sapkota appointed Board Members of NTB
The government has given a complete shape to the Board of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) by appointing three board members that had remained vacant. The government has appointed Rishi Ram Bhandari, Rajendra Bahadur Lama and Ram Prasad Sapkota as board members of NTB.
