Parajuli is the New CEO of NLIC
Pravin Raman Parajuli has been appointed as the CEO of Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) Limited. Before he was appointed CEO, Parajuli worked as Senior Deputy CEO of the company from January 9-July 19, 2022. Before joining NLIC, Parajuli was CEO of Reliance Life Insurance for four years. He is an MBA in Finance from Kathmandu University School of Management. 

Parajuli who has experience of around 20 years in the financial sector, started his career in 2002 in Dabur Nepal. In 2003, he joined the Investment (Merchant) Banking Department of NMB Bank Limited as a Relationship Manager and led the Company as Head-Investment from 2006-2009. After that, he joined Nabil Bank in June 2009 as head of merchant banking. He worked as the CEO of Nabil Investment Banking Limited from April 2010 to December 2017.

Dahal Takes Charge of Prime Life Insurance as CEO
Nirmal Dahal has been appointed as the CEO of Prime Life Insurance Company Limited. He joined Prime Life three months ago as the Senior Deputy CEO. He was given the responsibility of Acting CEO of the company after the tenure of Manoj Kumar Bhattarai as the CEO ended on July 16.  

Dahal previously worked at Sakchyam, an NGO supported by UKAID, as the Team leader of a program called ‘Sakchyam Access to Finance’ from September 2014 to August 2021. Before joining Sakchyam, he worked at Laxmi Bank. Dahal, who completed his MBA at Shankerdev Campus, started his banking career at Himalayan Bank.

Laxmi Bank CEO Shah’s Tenure Extended by 4 Years
The tenure of Ajaya Bikram Shah as the CEO of Laxmi Bank Limited has been extended by another four years. A meeting of the bank›s board of directors on July 27 took the decision to this effect. Shah became the bank›s CEO in 2018.
Shah has 27 years of experience in the banking sector. He started his career at Grindlays Bank (now Standard Chartered Bank Nepal) in 1995 as an Account Manager where he worked for 9 years. He is with Laxmi Bank for the last 19 years.

Bohra Re-appointed CEO of Lumbini Bikas Bank
Naresh Singh Bohra has been re-appointed as the CEO of Lumbini Bikas Bank Limited. His first tenure as the bank’s CEO started in 2018. Before that, he was Deputy CEO of Deva Bikas Bank which merged into Kumari Bank in 2020. Bohra is credited for the turnaround of Lumbini Bikas Bank which was mired in different problems until a couple of years ago. He is an MBA from Allahabad University, India and has 25 years of experience in the banking sector. 

Dhakal Appointed COO of F1 Soft Group
F1Soft Group has appointed Soham Dhakal as the Chief Operations Officer (COO). Dhakal has 24 years of working experience with various organizations and also is a successful entrepreneur. Prior to joining F1 Soft Group, Dhakal served at Vianet Communications as the COO. Before that, he worked at CloudFactory and Futureworks. Dhakal started his career at Oracle Cerner Corporation in the US. He holds a degree in Masters in Computer Information and Resource Management from Webster University, United States.

Bista Named CEO of Swabalamban Laghubitta
Narendra Singh Bista has been appointed as the CEO of Swabalamban Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited. A meeting of the board of directors of the company on July 22 decided to appoint Bista to the post for the next four years. The post of CEO had remained vacant following the resignation of Udayaraj Khatiwada on February 28. 

 

Binay Dahal as DCEO of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank
Binay Dahal has been appointed as the Deputy CEO of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited. A meeting of the bank’s board of directors held on July 17 decided to appoint him to the post.

Earlier, Dahal was with the NMB Bank for five years working as the bank’s Business and Planning Head. Dahal, who has nearly three decades of experience in the banking sector, has also worked at NIC Asia Bank and Nabil Bank in the past.

Poddar Joins Nimbus Group as CEO
Abhimanyu Poddar has joined Nimbus Group as CEO. Previously, he worked as the Managing Director of Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. for nine years. Before coming to Nepal, he was General Manager of ITC Limited from 2008-2013. 

 


Sharda Re-elected President of NOIA
Gaurav Sharda has been re-elected as the President of the Nepal Oxygen Industries› Association (NOIA). This is his second tenure as the President of the association. Sharda is the Director of the industrial conglomerate Sharda Group. The group operates Binayak Oxygen Industries Pvt. Ltd. and Kantipur Oxygen Pvt. Ltd., among its other businesses. 

 

Lala Elected President of ICAN
Bhaskar Singh Lala has been elected as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). He was unanimously elected to the post for the 2nd term of the 9th council of ICAN. Lala is a Partner of the chartered accounting firm S.R. Pandey & Co. Similarly, Sujan Kumar Kafle has been elected as the Vice President of ICAN. He is Managing Partner at Sujan Kafle & Associates. 


Basnet Joins Onlinekhabar.com as Editor
Basanta Basnet has been appointed as the Editor of Onlinekhabar.com. Earlier, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the online news portal Shilapatra.com from August 2020 to July 2022. Prior to joining Shilapatra.com, he worked as Editor of Nepal Magazine. In the past, he also worked at Kantipur, Annapurna Post, Nagarik and Annapurna Today. 

 

Poudel Appointed Principal of Asian College of Higher Studies
Tek Nath Poudel has joined the Asian College of Higher Studies as the Principal. Previously, he worked as the Head of Academics at Malpi International College. Poudel., who is an MBA from Tribhuvan University, has many years of experience working in the education sector. He had also worked at The British College, Nami College and was also the Country Coordinator, Nepal of the London College of Management and Technology.
