Upadhyay and Ghimire Promoted to NMB Bank DCEOs
Two Deputy General Managers of NMB Bank have been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officers (DCEOs). Sudesh Upadhyay and Govinda Ghimire have been elevated to the post of DCEOs. Earlier, Upadhya was working as Chief Business and Strategy Officer and Ghimire worked as Head of Brand and Marketing of the bank.

Baral Appointed CEO of RBCL
Shekhar Baral has been appointed as the CEO of Rastriya Beema Company Limited. Baral, who was selected through an open competition to head the government-run non-life insurance company has extensive experience in insurance and banking.

Baral has served as CEO of Lumbini General Insurance, Surya Life Insurance and United Insurance in the past. He also has worked at Standard Chartered Bank (Nepal) Limited. Baral, who hails from Jhapa, is an MBA from Tribhuvan University.

Earlier, Gyanendra Raj Ojha was CEO of RBCL. Ojha, who is a Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, was replaced by Baral after six months he was appointed to the company.

Another Tenure of Pant as CEO of NLG Insurance  
The tenure of Sunil Ballav Pant as the CEO of NLG Insurance Company Limited has been extended for another four years. The Insurance Board has also approved Pant for the second term.

Shrestha Appointed Company Secretary of Kumari Bank
Aswin Babu Shrestha has been appointed as Company Secretary of Kumari Bank Limited. A meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank held on September 21 appointed him to the post. Shrestha is Head- Finance and MIS of the bank.

Gyawali Appointed Acting CEO of Aarambha Chautari Laghubitta
Shiva Prasad Gyawali, Deputy Executive Officer of Aarambha Chautari Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, has been given the responsibility of Acting CEO of the company until a CEO is appointed. His appointment came after Lakshmi Prasad Sharma resigned from CEO of Aarambha Chautari.

Khadka Appointed CEO of eSewa
Jagdish Khadka has been appointed as the CEO of eSewa Pvt. Ltd. Khadka, who is also a Chartered Accountant, has more than 12 years of experience in Business Operations Management, Financial Planning and Management, and Ventures Building. Prior to his appointment as CEO of eSewa, he worked as Director at Fonepay Payment Service Limited, another subsidiary of f1Soft Group. His appointment came after Subash Sharma resigned from CEO of eSewa after leading the company for nearly a decade. He will remain as Director of eSewa.

Pant Named NTWCL Chairman
Chappi Raj Pant has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Limited (NTWCL). A meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to appoint him to the post. Pant, who has three decades of experience in the banking sector, is also an Advisor of Nepal SBI Bank. He had worked in Nepal SBI for a long time before retiring from the job. Pant, who is an MBA from Tribhuvan University also has about five years of experience working in a government bank.

Bhattarai Named DG of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection Department
Mahesh Bhattarai has been appointed as the Director General of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection Department under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS). A few weeks ago, Bhattarai was posted to MoICS from the Ministry of Finance (MoF). Previously, Bhattarai worked as the Head of the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office under MoF.

Bista Appointed CEO of E-Governance Commission
The government has appointed Dipesh Bista as the CEO of the E-Governance Commission for four years. A few weeks ago, the government issued the ‘E-governance Commission (Establishment and Operation) Order 2079’ to promote and regulate the use of electronic systems in public service delivery and government operations. The Order mandated the appointment of a CEO through open competition as Member Secretary of the Commission.

Bista was associated with the Information, Communication and Publicity department of the ruling Nepali Congress before being appointed as IT expert of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. He holds a Master’s degree in Science in Engineering Management from Purbanchal University and a Master’s Degree in Rural Development from Tribhuvan University.

Shrestha Appointed Strategy Director of F1Soft Group
Daniel D. Shrestha has been appointed as Strategy Director of f1Soft Group. Previously, he worked as the CEO at Cogent Health Pvt. Ltd. and Director of eSewa Money Transfer which are, respectively, health-tech vertical and remit service of f1Soft Group. Shrestha, who holds an MBA degree in Strategic Management and Marketing, has more than 13 years of experience working at high levels of fintech, health tech, remittance and other sectors.
