Khanal Appointed as Kumari Bank CEO
Ram Chandra Khanal has been appointed as the CEO of Kumari Bank Limited for four years. Khanal, who is the Deputy CEO of the bank, was working as Acting CEO after Anuj Mani Timilsina resigned from CEO in February. Khanal, who is a Chartered Accountant, has 15 years of experience in the banking sector.

He previously worked in Siddhartha Bank, Sanima Bank and NIC Asia Capital. He is the former CEO of NIC Asia Capital. Khanal joined Kumari Bank as Assistant General Manager after working at Siddhartha Bank for eight years. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) Council.

Neupane Becomes CEO of Century Commercial Bank
Manoj Neupane has been appointed as the CEO of Century Commercial Bank Limited. Earlier, Neupane was Deputy CEO of the bank and was given the responsibility of Acting CEO in July 2021 after Tulsiram Gautam left the bank.

He has over 17 years of experience in the banking sector. Neupane, who holds an MBA degree from Kathmandu University, started his career at Laxmi Bank and also worked in Himalayan Bank. He was with Sunrise Bank for eight years from 2009-2017 where he worked as the Head of Corporate Banking. In October 2017, he joined Century Commercial Bank as Assistant Executive Manager and became Deputy CEO of the bank in August 2019.

Shrestha Appointed as Acting CEO of Mega Bank
Raveena Deshraj Shrestha has been appointed the Acting CEO of Mega Bank Limited. Shrestha, who is the Deputy CEO of the bank, was given the responsibility after the end of the tenure of Anupama Khunjeli. The bank has said that Shrestha will oversee all financial, operational, policy-level, commercial, and credit authorization authorities until further notice.

She is with Mega since the bank’s inception in 2010. Shrestha has three decades of experience in banking. She started her career at Standard Chartered Bank (Nepal) Limited in 1992 and joined Nabil Bank in 2005 as the Chief of Consumer Banking. In 2010, she joined Mega Bank as Asst. Deputy CEO.

Pokharel was Re-appointed as CEO of Muktinath Bikas Bank
Pradyuman Pokharel has been re-appointed as CEO of Muktinath Bikas Bank Limited. He has over three decades of experience in the banking sector. He has worked in banks including Nabil Bank and Mega Bank. He joined Muktinath Bikas Bank as Deputy CEO in December 2016 and became the bank’s CEO in May 2018. He is an MBA in Marketing from Tribhuvan University. Pokharel is currently the President of the Development Bankers’ Association, Nepal.

Khatri was Re-appointed as Ajod Insurance CEO
Kumar Bahadur Khatri has been re-appointed as CEO of Ajod Insurance Limited. He will continue his next tenure of four years after getting approval from Insurance Board.

Prasai Named CEO of Prabhu Life Insurance
Santosh Prasai has been appointed as CEO of Prabhu Life Insurance Company Limited. He has been working as the company’s Advisor since February. Prasai will assume the post of CEO after receiving approval from Insurance Board. The post of CEO in Prabhu Life Insurance was vacant after Narayan Prasad Poudel resigned from the company after the entry of Prasai.
A Chartered Accountant, Prasai had previously worked in Nepal Life Insurance for four years and three months where he served as the CEO for eight months.

Chhetri Appointed President of eSewa
Parshuram Kunwar Chhetri has been appointed as the President of platform eSewa. His appointment came after Asgar Ali resigned from the post of the digital payment platform. Ali is the Co-founder of the company who worked as the company’s President since December 2012. Chhetri is a former banker who has over 35 years of experience in the banking and financial sector.

He started his career at Grindlays Bank (now Standard Chartered Bank) in 1986 and has worked in a number of banks including Nepal Bank, Citizens Bank International, Bank of Asia (Now Global IME Bank) and Janata Bank. He worked as CEO of the Bank of Asia from 2008 to 2012. In 2017, he joined Janata Bank in 2017 and continued to work as CEO for the next three years after the merger between Janata Bank and Global IME Bank. Kunwar is also engaged in training programs related to banking and finance.

Poudyal Elected as President of MAN
Upendra Prasad Poudyal has been nominated as the President of the Management Association of Nepal (MAN). Poudyal, who is currently the Chairman of Nabil Bank, received the highest number of votes as an individual candidate for the post of Executive Member. As per MAN’s statute, the office bearers will be selected from executive members. Similarly, Surendra Goyal has been elected as the First Vice President of the association.

Likewise, Asmi Rana been elected as the Second Vice-president, Mohan Raj Ojha as General Secretary and Hema Kumari Adhikari as Treasurer. Meanwhile, Anu Joshi Shrestha, Asha Rana Adhikari, Indra Kumar Shrestha, Jitendra Dhital, Kavi Raj Adhikari, Krishna Bahadur Adhikari, Krishna Prasad Sharma, Manish Jha, Manoj Kumar Gyawali, Milan Gurung, Pradyumna Pokharel and Suman Sharma have been elected as Executive Members.

Thapa Joins Chandragiri Hills as GM
Sanjeev Thapa has joined Chandragiri Hills Limited as the General Manager. His appointment came after Abhishek Bikram Shah resigned from the company after working there for seven years. Earlier, Thapa was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Park Village Resorts. Thapa, who started his career at Radisson Hotel Kathmandu, has over two decades of experience in the hospitality sector working in Nepal and abroad.

Sapkota Appointed as CEO of Fonepay
Diwas Sapkota has joined Fonepay Payment Service Limited as the CEO. Earlier, he was the Assistant CEO of the company. He joined Fonepay in August 2019 as the Chief Technology Officer. Sapkota worked as an IT Officer at Everest Bank in 2007 and joined the Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) as the System Manager. He has over 15 years of experience in the IT and digital payment sectors.
Similarly, Sumit Das has been appointed as Chief Business Officer of Fonepay. Previously, he worked at Coca-Cola Beverages Nepal for nearly 12 years in different capacities including Area Sales Manager, Cold Drinks Equipment Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Marketing Manager.

Joshi Appointed as DG of CNI
Deepak Raj Joshi has been appointed as Director General of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). Joshi, who worked as CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board from 2015 to 2020 has over two decades of professional experience in a number of sectors. He holds a master’s degree in Management and Commerce. He worked as Founding Executive Member of the World Tourism Network and Chairman of the Destination Committee and Executive Board Director at Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Joshi is also an Independent Director of Soaltee Hotel Limited since 2021. He is engaged in research on tourism and other economic sectors.

Awasthi Appointed as DG of FNCCI
Gokarna Raj Awasthi has been appointed as Director General of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). Earlier, he was Deputy Director General of the federation. Awasthi, who spent two decades in journalism as a business & economy journalist, served as Chairman of the Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON).

He holds a master’s degree in management from Tribhuvan University and has a Diploma in Development Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. He worked as Business Editor of Kantipur Daily for a decade from 2008 and also worked as the SDG Advisor at the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office Nepal for nearly two years starting from January 2018. He joined FNCCI as Deputy Director General in December 2020.

Paudel Appointed as MD of Nepal Telecom
Sunil Poudel has been appointed the Managing Director (MD) of Nepal Telecom. Poudel was among the three final candidates who were shortlisted for the post. Earlier, he was Executive Director of the National Center for Information Technology under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

HR Society Nepal elects new executive committee
Human Resource (HR) Society Nepal has elected its new executive committee.

The ninth annual general meeting (AGM) of HR Society Nepal has elected the new committee with Bhuban Raj Joshi as its new president. The 18-member new executive committee has been elected for two years.

Likewise, Tekraj Sharma, Mohan Thapa, and Ramayanti Joshi are the new vice presidents. Similarly, Chudamani Parajuli has been elected as the new general secretary. According to the HR Society, Subash Shrestha and Lekhnath Paudel are new secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Likewise, the AGM has elected 11 executive committee members. The new executive committee members are Anil Jayswal, Binod Mishra, Roopesh Shrestha, Rajesh Sharma Adhikari, Pashupati Nepal, Saroja Koirala, Rajendra Koirala, Dilip Raj Paudel, Binod Shrestha, Ravi Thakur, and Jyoti Koirala.
