Global IME Bank has been awarded the Best Bank Award 2024 by Global Finance magazine. Joseph D Giarraputo, Founder and Editorial Director of Global Finance, presented the award to Chairman of Global IME Bank, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, and Deputy CEO, Suman Pokharel, recently amidst a ceremony held in the United States of America.
Global IME Bank is the first Nepali bank to receive this prestigious award from Global Finance. The magazine awards outstanding central banks and commercial banks globally with this honour.
Global Finance is a monthly financial magazine. The magazine was founded in 1987 by a team consisting of Joseph D Giarraputo, the founder and former publisher of Venture, Carl G Burgen, Stephan Spahn, H Allen Fernald, and Paolo Panerai. BPA Worldwide, a US-based not-for-profit media auditing company that provides independent, third-party audits of media including print, digital, out-of-home, and events, certifies this magazine. It targets Chairpersons, CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, Treasurers, and other financial officers.
Global IME Bank has been recognised as Nepal’s best bank for 2024 based on different criteria such as credibility, financial resource mobilisation, service penetration, network footprints, establishment of strategic partnerships, business development and customer-friendly services, and credit ratings among others.
Receiving the award, Chairman Dhakal said that this recognition has encouraged Global IME Bank to further excel its services. He expressed gratitude to the Government of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank, and other regulatory bodies, shareholders, employees, and valued customers for their support in this endeavour.
Global Finance magazine honoured the top banks in regions including Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, Central America, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Western Europe, along with Global IME Bank.
For 2024, Global Finance also recognised other banks worldwide, including HSBC (Hong Kong), Bank of America (USA), State Bank of India (India), China Construction Bank (China), Maybank (Malaysia), Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Metrobank (Philippines), for their achievements in various categories.
