A Celebration of Corporate Excellence

The Corporate Club has honored the best of the Nepali corporate sector in the second edition of ‘the HRM Nepal Award for Corporate Excellence and the HRM Nepal Awards for Distinguished Services.’

The Corporate Club Pvt. Ltd., a sister organization of Growth Sellers, has organized a grand event to honor the excellence and achievements in the Nepali corporate sector on December 29, 2022. The second edition of ‘the HRM Nepal Award for Corporate Excellence and the HRM Nepal Awards for Distinguished Service’ was graced by the Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and had the participation of who’s who of the Nepali corporate world.

A total of 22 awards were handed over to winners in various categories by the organizers during the gala event. The HRM Award was divided into two broad categories – the Award for Corporate Excellence and the Award for Distinguished Service.

Himalaya SJB Rana was honored by Vice President Pun with the ‘Award for Distinguished Service 2022- Institution Builder’. Rana, who is the first governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, is also regarded for his role in establishing Himalayan Bank, the first private sector bank after 1990.

Vice President Pun presented Prem Bahadur Shrestha, Chairman of Panchakanya Group with ‘the HRM Nepal Award for Distinguish Services 2022- Lifetime Achievement’. Shrestha, a first-generation entrepreneur transformed his modest business into a diversified conglomerate which has now a diversified interests in steel, hydropower, plastic, and automobiles sector in the span of over four decades.

The honors for best startup and social enterprise were presented to Mheecha and Karkhana, respectively.

The corporate excellence award saw the best of the Nepali companies winning laurels for their special efforts, impact, and contributions.

Siddhartha SJB Rana, Chairman of Tara Management Pvt. Ltd. was conferred with ‘the HRM Nepal Award for Corporate Excellence 2022- Leadership – Male’.

Similarly, Sewa Pathak walked away with the honor of ‘the HRM Nepal Award Corporate Excellence 2022- Leadership – Female’.

The Corporate Excellence Award in Manufacturing was presented to Pokhara Noodles Pvt. Ltd.

Siddhartha Bank won the Excellence Award in Financial Services. It was the National Life Insurance Company that won the Excellence Award in the insurance services category.

The Excellence Award in ISP category was presented to Worldlink Communications Ltd, one of the country’s leading internet service providers. Similarly, Cloud Factory Nepal bagged the Excellence Award in IT Services category.

The Siddhartha Business Group of Hospitality, one of the fastest-growing hospitality chains in Nepal, was honored with Excellence Award in Hospitality Service. The honors for Excellence in Health Service and Pharmaceutical Industry went to Bayalpata Hospital and Nepal Pharmaceuticals Laboratory Pvt. Ltd., respectively.

Meanwhile, Nepal Clearing House Ltd. bagged the Excellence Award in Fintech category.

Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd., one of the leading companies in Nepal’s power sector, was presented the Excellence Award in Hydropower category. Paicho Pasal Pvt. Ltd. received the Excellence Award in Agribusiness category.

Daraz, Nepal’s largest e-commerce company, bagged the award for Excellence in E-commerce category. Buddha Air, one of the country’s leading private-sector airlines, was awarded with the Excellence Award in Airline category. Reliance Spinning Mills bagged the Excellence Award in Value-added Export category, while CE Construction was honored with the Excellence Award in Construction category.

The award of Excellence in MNC category went to Unilever Nepal Ltd.

Addressing the award ceremony, Vice President Pun said that the question of workforce development and management has become crucial in order to realize the dream of prosperity. Stating that human resources play a central role in strengthening and empowering the economy, Pun said, “The main base of a successful economy is the proper management of skilled and experienced human resources.”

According to Pun, the pace of the economy is determined by the productivity of human resources. “In this era of technology and development, creative manpower is the cornerstone of nation-building,” he said. “I have realized that there is an urgent need to take forward the development and management of human resources in a planned manner as a policy and program in order to realize the national aspirations of prosperity.”

Mohan Ojha, Chairperson of the awards steering committee, said that the awards will promote good practices in the Nepali corporate world. “After we established Corporate Club in 2008, we have been honoring and encouraging individuals and organizations in a small way through various means. We will continue to encourage and recognize such activities in the future,” said Ojha.
