Kandel Appointed CEO of Siddhartha Bank
Siddhartha Bank Limited has appointed Sundar Prasad Kandel as the new CEO. Kandel has been working in the bank for the past 16 years in various senior management roles and responsibilities. He has been the Deputy CEO of Siddhartha Bank for the past four years. Kandel also worked for Nabil Bank for about 17 years before joining Siddhartha Bank.
Pandey Appointed CEO of the Sanima Bank
Nischal Raj Pandey has been appointed the new CEO of Sanima Bank. The board of directors of the Bank has appointed Pandey to the post effective from February 26, 2022. Prior to his appointment, Pandey worked as Sanima Bank’s Deputy CEO since 2013. He has 26 years of experience in the banking sector and previously worked at Nabil Bank for 18 years. Pandey, who is specialized in lending, has served as the bank’s Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Chief Lending Officer.

SCB (Nepal) Appoints Rana as Deputy CEO 
Gorakh Rana has been appointed as Deputy CEO of Standard Chartered Bank (Nepal) Limited. Rana has banking experience spanning over 27 years with a deep knowledge of Nepal’s banking industry.

Rana started his career in banking from Nepal Grindlays Bank (now Standard Chartered Bank) as an Assistant of Private and Retail banking in 1994 and has served in different positions ranging from relationship manager, senior credit manager, head of client coverage and head of global banking and commercial banking. Besides being Deputy CEO, Rana is still the Head of Customer Liaison, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking in Nepal, according to a statement issued by the bank.

Poudel Re-appointed as Citizen Life CEO
Poshak Raj Poudel, CEO of Citizen Life Insurance has been re-appointed for a second term. A meeting of the company’s board of directors decided to extend the tenure of Poudel.

Poudel is the CEO of Citizen Life Insurance since January 2018. Before joining Citizen Life, he was the Chief Financial Manager at MetLife Insurance for 15 years. An MBA from Tribhuwan University, Poudel also holds Fellowship in Life Insurance Management (FLIM) and Associate Customer Service (ACS) Degree from Life Office Management Association (LOMA), USA.

Vaidya Appointed Acting MD of Nepal Telecom
Pratibha Vaidya has been appointed as Acting Managing Director of Nepal Telecom. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) assigned the responsibility to Vaidya who was currently the Chief Technical Officer of the state-owned telecom company.
Vaidya’s appointment came after the three-year tenure of the Dilliram Adhikari ended on January 6.
The appointment of Managing Director in Nepal Telcom has become a matter of legal controversy over the new amendment over the age bar of the MD.

Agrawal Appointed CEO of Jagdamba Motors
Deepak Agrawal has been appointed as the CEO of Jagdamba Motors Pvt. Ltd. Agarwal, who is associated with the company since its inception, was earlier the Vice-president of the company. He has over two decades of experience in sectors including banking, IT, automobile sector and manufacturing

Thapa elected NADA President
Dhruba Thapa has been elected as the President of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal. He defeated Karan Chaudhary by 66 votes in the recently held election of the new Executive Committee of the NADA. Thapa received 1413 votes while Chaudhary received 1347 votes.
The meeting of the newly elected 29-member Executive Committee of NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal has completed the appointment of the office bearers. As decided by the committee, Subhash Acharya and Mohan Babu Khadka were appointed as Institutional Vice-Presidents while Rajan Babu Shrestha, Nirakar Shrestha and Sunil Rijal were appointed as Vice-Presidents. Similarly, Surendra Kumar Upreti was appointed as General Secretary, Vikram Singhania as Secretary, Milan Babu Malla as Treasurer and Pankaj Agrawal as Co-Treasurer.

Sapkota Becomes Director General of DoR
Shiva Hari Sapkota has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of Roads (DoR). Earlier, he was the head of the construction division at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Chhetry elected president of Nepal Insurers Association
Chunky Chhetry has been elected unanimously the president of Nepal Insurers Association (NIA). Chhetri was earlier general secretary of the association. All the members of the new executive committee have been elected unanimously.
The new executive committee has Birendra Baidwar Chhetri, CEO Siddhartha Insurance as vice president and Ashok Kumar Khadka, CEO of NECO Insurance as the general secretary. Yugesh Bhakta Bade Shrestha, CEO of IME General Insurance has been re-elected as the treasurer unanimously.
The outgoing president of NIA and CEO of Shikhar Insurance, Dip Prakash Pandey will continue to represent NIA to the Board of Directors of Nepal Reinsurance Company.
